A Chicago screw consists of two parts: one female end which is threaded (it's shaped like sorta like a screw, with a round flat head, but the stem has female threads to accept the screw). The other end is just a normal screw.
: Thanks for the answer, but I'm sorry, I don't know what a Philadelphia lay is either. With the risk of sounding like a dunce, what's a flat head slot?
: Do you mean that the chicago screw is sort of like two regular screws that screw into each other manually, except with no slot for the screwdriver, or am I getting it all wrong?
: I just don't understand how those screws from the URL you gave me (which look like regular hardware screws) can be fastened to the bag strap.
: Also, I have Noel's strap and I don't see how they can be unscrewed.
