No. Sand paper will remove the top coat and leave the raw mauve lamb. The only way you can get beige/light brown highlights would be to add color once the regular finish is removed. I would try a yellowish color to balance the red. I have seen some shoe "light brown" shoe polish that is very yellow.

TOD jacket is much more modeled. I wouldn't try to get that color from Wested's lamb. I would go with Peter's old cow and work from there using the techniques I used on my Wested. Good Luck! Share some photos with us too.
