I think the chap with the bandage got some chop-socky from Marion en route to the island. She yelled at someone on the freighter, "don't you touch me"; perhaps this was the same guy.
Only noticed that recently myself, during the 70mm show in Seattle.
That print had a pinkish hue throughout; guess everyone had a rosy outlook in the early '80s.
