I've never had a pair of Alden's so I can't compare the two in weight, but the skechers are a bit heavy. I go hikin' in a pair all the time and don't have any problems but I would say they weigh about the same as your average hikin' boot.
I'll throw 'em on the scale tonight when I get home and let you know.
