I'm not a specification junkie like others are(I'm happy with brass zippers), so I can't answer those questions. I can, however, let you know how the FS lamb compares to the Wested lamb.
When held side-by-side the FS lambskin is just as dark as Wested's, but it has a more brown hue to it. My Wested is NEARLY black. I'm not a color junkie either, but the FS lamb seems authentic enough for me. The grain of the FS lamb is also much better-looking and really makes the Wested look like a garbage bag. The FS lamb does NOT "squeak", whereas my Wested squeaks justs as loud as it did when it was brand new 2 years ago.
The FS leather seems pretty much as strong as Wested's, yet I still wouldn't drag it behind a truck. I don't think neither lambskin is as flimsy as people say it is. The bottom line is it's leather, and leather is pretty tough. Regarding the drape, to me the FS seems to drape more like Ford's jacket. But maybe that's just because the coat itself LOOKS more like his.
