Douglas Adams' 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' "trilogy" was actually 5 books long, and they still call it a "trilogy"...
"The Lord of the Rings" is called a trilogy, yet my boxed set comes with "The Hobbit", a fourth book...
