Raiders whip length- final verdict?

I'm going to order the David Morgan whip, but I don't recall what the final verdict was on the proper length to match Raiders, especially as seen coiled in the belt holder. David Morgan site says 10 foot was most used, but is that for whipping scenes, coiled scenes or both? Thanks.
