: Forget the .32. The .44 is a Third Model H.E., (aka Model 1926)which has the ejector rod housing like the First Model H.E. , which was known as the Triple Lock. When S&W dropped the shroud on the Second Model, enough people wanted it back that a S&W distributor,Wolf & Klar of Ft. Worth, TX, Placed an order for 5000 of them and the 1926 was born. The grips on the one pictured are later S&W grips and replacing them would be a chore, unless you could live with black rubber reproductions of the gold medallion grips(the flying wing scene). I guess the grips could be painted brown. I have a 1926 with a four inch barrel and it's a fine revolver. The five inch barrel and nickel finish isn't "cannon", but it would represent a revolver that an "adventurer" would choose in the 1930's. If it's in OK shape, you can't go wrong!
