Actually the factory doesn't take the finish off. What they do is dye the leather in such a way that it looks older. The leather is in no way aged in predistressed when the factory does it, it just looks so. They add faded coloring and such to make the jacket look as an older, aged jacket would if its color faded naturally. Though I've never really have seen a good synthetically "aged" jacket saved for MK's.
