Are you there?
Before I chop my $115 Indy Miller, I though I ought to check in with you and any other "Hat Choppers" out there
I am the proud owner of an Indy Miller suffering from Big Hat Syndrome.
I suspect a dimensional cut might help. It is a big hat US Size 7-5/8"
with a 2-3/4" all around brim. The Crown seem a tad over 5.5" "bashed" possibly even 5-5/8 un-bashed.
Given the crown hight, brim width, hat size, what type of dimensional "cut" would you recommend? 1/8"? 1/4"? more? less?
Would you suggest the use of a french curve to scribe in the final blending cut? How large should the blending area be? 2"? 3"?
I await your comments.
I'd like to hear from anyone who's "chopped" an Indy Miller Hat...
