Not to sound dismissive, but none of those things you mention make it epic. Look up the definition for epic.

: The Scream series had a really tight plot line that interlaced back and forth between the 3 movies, probably better than any other murder mystery out there- even Hitchcock would have probably given it two thumbs up.
: That's one of the reasons why it became the highest grossing horror movie franchise ever(unless you consider Jaws to be horror movie).
