: In the newest issue of Atlanta Cutlery they are offering military holster replicas. Among them is a WWI "Butt Forward" M1917 .45 revolver holster. It looks to be an almost perfect match to the Raiders holster. The only difference I see, without further study, is the embossed "US" on the flap and a missing button strap. Anyway, the item number is #8-892 and it sells for $39.95. To contact Atlanta Cutlery call 1-800-883-0300. They will send a free catalog.

Might want to give that picture a quick look over. The M1917 was not a full flap holster, but instead was only a half flap cover for the .45 revolver. Also, I never heard of a butt forward issue after the Civil War as being issued. Interesting. Regards. Michaelson
