My problem with Akubra, Miller, etc, is that, next to a PB, they look "sloppy". I don't have a better word or description, but that's the feeling I get.

Now it's quite possible (and probable ;-)) that I'm just too picky, but for my dollar, I've not yet come across a hat that is worth, dollar for dollar, each cent more than a PB.

I've got a *lot* of other hats (my apartment is a mess as there's really no good way to store a ton of hats except strewn about ;-)), and only the PB makes me warm, fuzzy, and happy to have spent the money, and after all, what else counts? (Did I mention I'm pretty bitchin'-lookin in them too? ;-))

But as to the main thread premise -- folks, if you don't have a black fedora in your collection, I highly recommend it as a versatile and useful (be it classy or devious) look!
