Infernal Machine Question-Need help!

I got in the raft and went all the way down to the little building and got the candle. Then I went down rapids and found the cavern with the machinery. I slipped down the dark caveand am stuck down there. Every exit is flowing water, which the raft can't go up. Can you guys help me? Thanks...
