If they had went ahead and made Indy 4 back in 95-97, your concerns may have been warranted. (Especially considering it probably would've been the Saucermen From Mars script.)

The most promising thing about Indy 4 is that they decided to do it ONLY if they thought the script/story was really, really good. Now, that doesn't guarantee it will go off as planned, but at least going into it, they are making a conscious effort to do the series justice.

Speilberg is also a better director now than he was when LC came out, and Ford is a better actor.

And I figure, after Young Indy, Radioland Murders, and The Phantom Menace- Lucas is about due to hit one out of the park.
