I don't see much of a rift here, as I doubt there will be many posts about TR in a week. Just a new movie opening to talk about.

It'll be interesting to see the box office this weekend though, as I really don't know why they expect TR to have a huge appeal across the board.

Consider:

-It's already alienated most of the core audience of internet fanboys.

-It doesn't seem like something the older crowd would get into.

-Spare me the "strong female role" stuff- I just can't see women flocking to a film based on a videogame.

It's just an opinion, but it seems that The Mummy Returns and Charlie's Angels had more going for them than TR does.

I've got nothing against Jolie, either, but I ain't going to see a movie because of an airbrushed poster of a girl in a stuffed shirt. (Now if a clinically insane chick wanted to seek a violent solution, that's different.)
