I studied and will continue to study archaeology next fall when I enter the graduate program to specialize in Andean archaeology. My undergrad major was in archaeology with a minor in museum studies ("That belongs in a museum!").
In a way, Indy is what first pointed me towards archaeology and made me first consider it as a profession. It's too bad that archaeology is very little like what Indy does, but I love it nonetheless. I think the films capture the essense of discovery and the feelings that are associated with stepping into the past. I take alot of crap from peers for my Indy "obsession", but from my point of view, the Indy items I collect are a tribute to the one thing that introduced me to the world of archaeology.
You know it is a powerful movie that can induce such a change in people's lives. I am certainly grateful for it.
