Justin,that's some interesting ponderings...Let' me think on that one with you. Being that the arc is/was sacred I would tend to say "yes"; but you're right, with the death and resurrection of Christ as a new covenant or way for people to know God, that puts a new twist on the sacredness of the covenant issue. But back then (B.C), was it only the Jews that died that touched the arc? Or would non-Jews die too? Probably a moot point. However, in relation to your question...many people touched Christ before the resurrection and after, but they didn't die and he represents the new covenant. okay...probably still a moot point. I know none of this probably answers your question, but it's late and I'm pondering along with ya. Any Bible scholars out there that want to put in their 2 cents?
