As you can see, this can open up a can of worms that NO one really wants to open. I believe there is no set "toughest" Indy jacket. There are mil-spec jackets (which are indeed, in my opinion engineered to BE tough), there is the toughness range based on the leather industries rating scale of leather fiber resistance to wear, and so on. This subject is totally opinion driven, and I'm afraid you're not going to get a satisfactory answer. I think that any jacket you get that's made from goatskin will pass any toughness test in the real world (just my opinion here), but a leather jacket is only as good as it's seams allow it to be.
