And I have to say the MA whips are very high quality. They are made by a variety of very skilled craftsman, one of whom is Joe Strain. Joe's whips are highly sought after, and in David Morgan's own paraphrased words, "Joe will be very good someday if he keeps at it." High praise from the master!

The only cosmetic differences are slight. The colors are off with the MA's, but I personally like the ToD look of the medium brown. Also, the skins are thinner on the MA's, which will make them a bit less durable if you really plan to use them.

The David Morgan whips were made foremest for stuntmen. They are highly functonal and made to endure less than ideal use in less than ideal situations. The skins are cut thicker, giving the whip a little different look with respect to the MA's, and add to their durability.

The real difference in my book is in the weight and balance. When I've been handed a DM, I can tell it is a DM. It is heavier and much easier to use. Now, I've become pretty adept with my MA, and really enjoy working with it. It does take a bit more effort than seems completely natural, but not enough to really bug me. The DM's are made to carry a good amount of weight out well into the thong, and are counter balanced with lead within the handle. This results in a whip which requires only more subtle action with the wrist. I need to work a little harder with my MA, and I think it affects my accuracy. I am looking forward to having my own DM here in the next few weeks, to give them a more regular shake-down and comparison.

Cheers!
