If you think about it, Indy is a hero who is trying to tell us to get off our arses and make something of our lives. Being a playboy is just one of them. I am not trying to say it's a good thing, but I'm saying that it's a character trait that tries to motivate you to be more fun (if you aren't a fun person). I mean, look at Ash (Evil Dead). He is a man's man - saying things that we want to say. That's my two cents.
