Professor Jones' Bible flips and the torso bandage

While talking to the FBI guys, the bible gets flipped over twice. Jones is fondleing it (he touches it five times in the classroom and a couple times in this sceene) but he never flips it. He's got a bandage when the kids come and save him in the bar, just above his stomach. Is it just some gaffers tape holding a microphone? Doesnt seem to be any damage in that area when he can't get the too- small German uniform on.
