Harrison Ford's next project is slated to start filming next spring -- a biographical drama of late humanitarian Fred Cuny.
VARIETY announced that Ford will be producing the film as well as starring as Cuny, "something of a legend in the humanitarian aid community for his relief efforts... . Cuny is believed to have been executed in April 1995 after disappearing with two Russian doctors and an interpreter while attempting to negotiate a Russian-Chechnyan cease-fire."
Ford narrated a 1997 documentary on Cuny for Frontline, "The Lost American", and the feature film has been a pet project of his for some time.
GLADIATOR screenwriter William Nicholson will write the screenplay, and Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu (who helmed the acclaimed AMORES PERROS) will direct.
