: : : Sallah speaks a fine and clear English In Raiders, but in LC he speaks with some phony accent. He also uses odd terms like "steel beast" and "father of Indy."
: :
: : Listen to him say "It's as if the Pharoahs have returned" or "Better than U.S. Marines" (notice the omission of 'the'). I think that cudgel has caused some serious damage...

: I have to check again. But I am sure that Sallah's English got worse between Raiders and Last Crusade.

: Oh, and no more cudgeling over Sallah, I promise!
Yet another Indy cereal? ;)
I hear mostly a British accent with a bit of a non-specific foreign twang. Listen carefully how Sallah pronounces the "returned" in "It's as if the Pharaohs have ree-tehr-ned".
And is it just me, or did Sallah get quite corpulent? I mean, he almost looks trim in Raiders. Must have been all the pharaoh's chicken (I love that dish!) that Fayah cooks for Sallah.
