As for John Denver, I'm fairly sure he did a stint as a zoomie, although I suppose that the Air Force really doesn't count as the military.
(I kid, my best friend is a zoomie. Nobody is perfect.)
When I was a kid, I wanted to be either Indy or Mr. Denver. Since I couldn't play anything beyond the kazoo, that dream was out.
