Francisco Coronado was a conquistador and explorer. He was one of the
first Europeans to wander the American Southwest, and was one of the
first ever to see the Grand Canyon. I highly suggest finding a biography
of him. He is the least known of the Spanish "Big Four" (Hernan Cortes,
Francisco Pizzarro, Hernando deSoto and Coronado). As a history major,
its my job to know this stuff. My two cents.
