Are you kidding? I loved the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. It took till the Congo episodes before I was convinced Sean Patrick Flanery could really grow into the person that Ford played, but it was in only the secopnd episode (London) that I knew what Lucas had created was truly special! It is because this show was so good that Indy finally took over the number one spot on that list inside my head of 'favorite fictional characters' (the spot was previously held by James Bond 007). I immediately stopped collecting Star Wars (and only recently got back involved, though I'm limiting myself to just the Kenner Toys and the better West End Games products).
Back to Young Indy: Corey Carrier is actually really cool - there was just that hideous, non-sensical African episode that aired so early and was the REAL reason why the ratings began plummeting. But most of his other episodes aren't that bad (I esp. liked Vienna, France with insane Picasso - my favorite of Carrier's episodes - and Travels With Father).
But the real star of this show is Sean Patrick Flanery. He is such an incredible actor, and his dramatic stregnth is actually more commanding and appealing to me than Harrison Ford's! Compare Flanery's performance in POWDER (if you haven't already)against ANY Harry Ford performance and you'll see what I mean. I'm not trying to knock Harry - god bless the guy I love him - but he has not made a decent film in a while (though I have yet to see SABRINA). Anyway, my favorites of Flanery's are pretty much all of them - except that APPALLING Istanbul episode! It's SO cliched! I couldn't stand it, and that ending - oh what a real shocker - NOT!
