Yes, you're right. It's something I should have mentioned. This set of videos is in PAL system, so it wont work unless you have a PAL-compatible video. The alternatives are 1) buying a video that can play PAL tapes (almost every major manufacturer has a model that can play any video system) and 2) Convert the PAL tapes to the system of your choice. But of course, you need to have the tapes first. To get these UK tapes is a different matter and I cannot give any advice. Anyway, I assume they are not longer available, except as remaining copies at the back of some shops. In fact, when I got my copy three years ago, they were a bargain as the shop was trying to get rid of them!
One additional info about these tapes: in UK "the temple of doom" was censored (to keep it rated for children) and the scene when the heart is taken of the chest is cut, so in these tapes that scene is also missing.
Anyway, and I think this is the important point: if they have been available in UK already, I don't see the reason to not re-release them, as the master tapes should be ready! Last week I read in a magazine that the three Indy movies were to be re-released (in Europe, as far as I know) as a set, but on laser-disc only.
