: Could the Fallen Empire be reminants of the evil Empire from Star Wars. With the new movies coming out and still taking place a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, they might tie in to one another. Indy could slowly uncover hi tech artifacts that were from a lost civilization. This would put the story more in line with the Roswell rumour in that it would take a sci-fi type route. What do you think?
*A* Empire, possibly. *The* Empire, no way.
While a few in-jokes to other movies never hurt,
I think that's going a bit too far.
However, with regards to RotFE, it seems plausible that he discovers a civilization, long since dead, with strangely modern technology. You know, that IS starting to sound a lot like Fate of Atlantis. All right, let's switch gears...
There we go. Maybe RotFE isn't a dead civilization. Indiana is doing some anthropological work in a remote culture, and is amazed to find all these remnants of fantastic doodads, but none of the villagers know understand its significance. Hence, the village was once a mighty empire, but has fallen into its current day squalor. Now, we need raiders. Three ways to do it... 1) Indy heads into the catacombs to find out the exact root of the mystery. (Fun, but where's the globe-hopping expedition? We've gotta have a globe-hopping expedition!) 2) Third party decides they want the technology, Indy has to stop them. (Too much like the Lost Ark and Last Crusade) 3) Government decides the world is better off without the technology and sends in a troop to remove it. Does Indy defy Uncle Sam? After the Ark's fate, maybe he does. Oooh... I just got a great idea, but it's worth its own post... see you there! The Dentman
