How can we be really so sure what Marion meant when she said she was a "child"? That word can be taken as anything...a real child (in the sense of the age), a child in the sense of the intellectual level of the person, or maybe, she just considers herself a child, even though she might already pass for an adult! We know how people would sometimes say "my child" to grown-ups when they try to console them. And in that matter, how can we really be so sure as to the age of Indy and Marion when they had their tryst? Sure, it's not being said in the book, but remember that Marion was mentioned in one of the books (the Genesis Deluge)....or at least, a namesake (but I'm willing to bet that that's the same person). Underaged? I don't know. Indy may be roguish and all, but he's not a pedophile.
