To anyone who has seen the Indy display at the Smithsonian

It's been about 10 years since I was there but I swear that the hat on display is described as being suede. Yet from everything we have ever seen or heard the hats were all felt. Is it a fault in my memory (I mean I am getting up there) or is that really the description of the hat on display. Please someone prove I'm not going senile.
