It seems like they're having enough trouble committing to one new film, never mind two.
Besides, the thing about the 'Matrix' sequels, the 'BTTF' sequels, and the 'LOTR' movies is that they're all related. They have pretty much the same casts and sets. Whereas the 'Indy' films have always had totally different settings and different supporting casts (except for Sallah and Marcus in 'Raiders' and 'Crusade'). It'd be like shooting two 007 films back to back. Jumping all around the globe in one 'Indy' film must be backbreaking enough...
