Just took a look at the acmedepot.com item you provided, and read there that goat skin is more resilent and has lasted longer over the years than horsehide. My Chrome tanned horsehide has always been stiff as cardboard and taken a lot longer to break in. They have also been 3.5 oz leather so they have been heavier to start with. I would go with the Russet veg tanned for a nice change.d
