Darkening (anti-distressing) a jacket

My, ahem, bonehead friend, (yeah, that's the ticket!) who slammed the car door on his jacket and dragged it a ways, is now wondering if there is a way to redarken the localized damaged spots...

Anyone every *darken* a jacket? Any of you pre-distressed Wested owners do this by chance? (These are the folks I'd expect to have a go at it, but I'd love to hear from anyone!)
