There's been problems with that games sound ever since well... since it was released with full voice-talkie (I think that's the term they used) on CD-ROM. Though I think there is actualy two different patches for sound problems when running on newer computer in Win 9x. They can both be downloaded from LucasArts website in the tech-info section, I think it's called Yoda's Help Desk.

Try those out, see what they do for you, if they don't fix it, drop me an email.
