Sit back now friends and hear a tale.
A tale of hard fought quest,
That started on the world wide web
To find the jacket-best.
A V.I.P. from US Wings,
Well made but too much grain.
Exchanged it for a Vintage Cow.
The lining was a shame.
So then off to merry olde,
Where folks at Wested tried.
I ordered up a Last Crusade,
New finish, lambtouch hide.
But 'ere a day or two had passed
While reading posts galore.
I now had far more questions asked.
Fewer answers than before.
Single but not double-stitched?
Odd collars, lost snaps, a tear?
With fashion aspirations but no mil-spec hardware?
Unsure about the choice I'd made,
I called and cancelled quick.
Then set about to more research
To clarify my pick.
Flightsuits was the next in line,
Of whom were good things said.
Their Expedition jackets-
To further vex my head.
For me to browse their samples sent:
Of goat, of horse, of cow.
Comparing each against the next,
Oh, what would I do now?
With squares in hand I chose the goat.
It seemed to be the stuff.
So strong yet light and finely grained.
What else to clad the gruff?
So it would be the Flightsuits then?
But pattern problems loomed.
Too-big bodies, sleeves too short,
It looked like I was doomed.
Fear not, remember US Wings?
Not their fault, my selections.
Get the Sarge back on the horn.
A GOATSKIN Indy, ahh perfection.
So I ordered one two days ago.
Tough customer but mean no harm.
Red-faced to have to call again,
Hoping third time is a charm.
So wait with me, you Indyfans.
We'll pass the time together,
Until the day my jacket comes,
Resplendent me, in leather.
And when the day of truth arrives,
Delivered on a truck.
I'll fill you in on all details,
As if you give a f#ck!
