Well, for about a week now I've not been online at all which has left my email accounts full of letters (191 total) and me very behind on my required Fan forum post readings I need each day for my "Indy" fix (which convinces me more and more how obsessive this hobby truly is). Well the reason I've not been online is simple, I moved. I moved into my new apartments last Wednesday and started to prepare for the start of school and then I hit problems. First the management didn't clean my apartments like they had said and then, after dumping lots of garbage, the manager informed me that the high speed internet connection they had promised me wasn't going to be up and working until next month.
Then Qwest had its turn messing with me. Qwest had originally said they'd hook up my phone on the 15th but had connected a phone in Globe, AZ by mistake (I'm in Tucson) then they told me it'd be hooked up on the 20th (but scheduled it to be done late in the afternoon on the 21st). THEN when they did hook it up on the 21st the phone lines had been wired wrong and I didn't get my phone service until just this morning (at 7 AM).
Now onto what undoubtedly is the reason you were peeking at this post to begin with, my new jacket. It arrived this Monday and for the past couple of days I've aweing at the idea I actually have such a fine jacket in my possession. It didn't arrive till 7 pm on Monday (because UPS here is sooo unpredictable) and there was some confusion at FS getting it here, but that was my fault. As soon as the UPS man handed the package to me I ran quickly to my room and opened it up to find a jacket in a plastic bag and a note saying:
"Brian! Look in the inside pocket!!
Lee"
As I looked at the note I couldn't help but laugh at the fact he actually did what I had half jokingly asked him to do in an email. I then proceeded to open the bag and pull out the thing I had been waiting so long to hold in my two hands...My veg tanned seal brown goatskin Expedition jacket. All I could say was wow, and do a little dance. I quickly put it on and looked at myself in the mirror. It was a perfect fit and I reached into my inside pocket to find a Lee Kepler TOD whip holder, compliments of my good pal Lee and Indiana Jun. I then spent the next three hours (and next couple of days actually whenever I had the time) to examine, measure, and check every detail on this jacket-o-mine. It's perfect, and like advertised a jacket of armor that is already starting to soften up nicely (especially in the gussets which are already very nice and soft). Like Patterson had said it is the Raiders jacket and sitting here with it on with my PB fedora, I can say it looks and feels like the Indiana Jones jacket. I can't wait till it's cold enough outside to wear it all the time. I might have to order another one soon. (Perhaps a deerskin one? (grin))
Cheers!
