I never said that it wasn't Star Wars, just that it wasn't very intelligent.
For one thing, it's not even physically sound, as it suggests that the Force requires something outside of itself to operate. Put another way- a universal energy field would play no favorites, so there would be no fundamental difference between a Jedi or a midichlorian (as they would both be comprised of the same substance).
